About Us

Bike Friendly Lambton is a community partnership working to create a more 'bike friendly' Sarnia-Lambton. We are committed to the 5 E's of bike friendly communities; education, engineering, enforcement, encouragement and evaluation. We believe that Sarnia-Lambton has great potential for becoming a safe and attractive cycling destination. The Bike Friendly Lambton initiative was founded in 2012, with support from Share the Road Cycling Coalition, the Ministry of Transportation and Healthy Communities Funding from the Province of Ontario.

    Sarnia-Lambton CAN's VISION

    "Sarnia-Lambton is a bike-friendly community"

"To develop the vision of Sarnia-Lambton as a bike friendly community through advocacy, education, and encouragement"

    1. Be a unified voice for cycling in Sarnia-Lambton to decision makers at all levels of government and local private sector interests.
    2. Engage the community as a whole to promote cycling.
    3. Advocate for an interconnected network of both on-road and off-road safe cycling routes in Sarnia-Lambton which connect residential areas with schools, workplaces, shopping, and entertainment.
    4. Advocate for improved engineering to facilitate cyclist traffic including infrastructure such as proper traffic control systems, adequate lane widths, and signage

We need to mobilize cyclists and those who share our vision of Sarnia-Lambton as a bike friendly community!

Please contact us at if you would like to become a part of Sarnia-Lambton CAN. Sarnia-Lambton CAN will then add your name to a list of "constituents" and contact list to let you know of activities and items of interest to cyclists in the area.

Why is this important? We need to be able to demonstrate to our community stakeholders that Sarnia-Lambton CAN is a representative voice for cycling in the community. And of course, the larger our constituency, the more serious they'll take us!

  • Build a Bike Donation Program

Build a program is a program that matches locally donated bikes to Lambton County residents. Gently used bikes can be donated locally to be reconditioned and distributed to designated individuals in our community. All recipients who receive a bike will also participate in basic bike skills training and will receive a helmet, lights, bell and lock. The program is offered in partnership with the Lambton CirclesTM initiative.

For more information or to donate a bike, please contact us. Donations are greatly appreciated.
